I volunteered at an LGBT youth group for a majority of my teens years, five years. I think about all the times I couldn't find queer resources as an adolescent, and it makes me glad I could help so many kids.

I'm participating because the more people that volunteer for this project, the more likely the word of this project will go around.

I do my best to help others in need, no matter the time or place. I have dedicated my time to become a small town firefighter/EMT to help out my community as a whole.
I'm participating to help the effort in showing that it isn't the negative labels and stereotypes that define people, but positive actions and character instead.
I love working with the kids I teach! Helping them grow as people throughout the year is so rewarding. When you know your making an impact, all the hard work is worth it.
I am participating because pansexual people often have bad stereotypes that follow them. People assume I sleep around, that I just looking for attention, that I'm confused, or even that I'm dangerous. I am who I am. I'm not evil.

Every year since I was a baby I've been a part of the Christmas Giving Program run by Refugee Apostolate. I usually help label bags (last year the Bag Party was actually at my house) and then help collect, sort, and bag the gifts. I love doing it mostly because it's so fun, but when I see women with three kids and no coats waiting outside the door for their bags of gifts, I make sure that I put a winter jacket into every bag.
