I put my friends and family above my material items. If I can make life easier by buying someone lunch or loaning them money, I will do it without hesitation. An example would be when I used the last of my extra money last winter to buy my mother an electric blanket, since she didn't have heating in her apartment.

I went with my roommates to adopt old cats from the Humane Society because we knew that they would be the least likely to be adopted.

If I ever have any extra money and I see someone who needs it more I give it to them, even if it's my last two dollars. The gratitude is amazing.
